The ELO Liberty & Bridleless Nationals marks our inaugural national show, showcasing the thrilling fusion of traditional equine disciplines with the extraordinary art of liberty and bridleless riding. Competitors will join us at the world-class Kentucky Horse Park to test their partnership and skill across diverse classes, including Ranch Riding, Dressage, Jumping, Freestyle, and more. This event is a celebration of horsemanship and the future of equine sport.​​

What: 3 full days of liberty & bridleless competition. Educational demos throughout the weekend. An unforgettable evening show.

We’re excited to welcome you to the ELO Liberty & Bridleless Nationals! Here’s everything you need to know as you plan your trip and get ready for an unforgettable weekend:

 

Location
The show will take place in the Covered Arena at the Kentucky Horse Park, with barns conveniently located closest to the arena for easy access throughout the event.

Registration Info
Registration will be available on Horse Spot (link coming soon).

 

Registration closes: August 31st

When registering, please keep the following in mind:

  • Be sure to select the class that includes your division name at the beginning of the class title.

  • For a full list of classes by division (including correct class numbers), please reference the official class list.

  • The easiest way to search for classes during registration is by entering the class number.

  • For a step-by-step walkthrough of how to register, please reference this video: (link coming soon).

We are offering a Training Division for all classes except freestyle.

  • Exhibitors may not compete in the same class and pattern in both the Training and Regular divisions.

  • However, exhibitors are welcome to participate in both divisions across different classes throughout the show.

 

Freestyle Classes

  • Youth & Adult Freestyle: Friday afternoon/evening

    • Open to all—no application required! Just sign up during standard registration.

    • There is no separate compulsory pattern for freestyle classes. However, there are 3 required technical maneuvers, which may be chosen from the list provided in the judging rubric.

  • Professional Freestyle Showcase: Saturday evening

    • This will be a special, non-judged exhibition designed to highlight professional liberty work and inspire youth and amateur exhibitors.

Official Show Photographer
We’re thrilled to have Jennifer Bechard of Jennifer Bechard Photography as our official photographer! Based in Maine, Jennifer is a professional and published equine photographer with over 20 years of experience in the horse industry. Her work beautifully captures the authentic connection, partnership, and trust between horses and their people.

 

Throughout the event, Jennifer will be photographing competitors in the ring as well as candid moments around the grounds. Each registered participant will receive access to a personal online gallery to view and purchase images from their experience.

Jennifer will also have a table set up during the show—feel free to stop by with any questions about her work or your gallery!

Move-In & Warm-Ups
Move-in begins at 9:00 AM on Thursday, October 29th.
Paid warm-up sessions will be available in the Covered Arena on Thursday (registration link coming soon).

 

Show Schedule
The show runs Friday through Sunday.
A detailed schedule and order of go will be released a couple of weeks after registration closes.​​

 

Halloween Fun!
Yes—it’s Halloween weekend, and we’re planning plenty of festive fun! Expect activities like:

  • Trick-or-treating (our version!)

  • Costume class

  • Stall decorating contest

  • And more surprises to come!

 

Vendors
Interested in being a vendor? Spots will be available (vendor registration link coming soon).

 

Move-Out Information
Exhibitors are welcome to stay overnight on Sunday night. However, please note:

  • There will be no access to the Covered Arena after the show concludes.

  • All stalls must be vacated by 7:30 AM Monday morning.

  • A $125 fee per stall will be applied for any stalls not cleared by this time.
